Nominate young people and employers in the Youth and Business Awards

Since it began in 2015, Pebbles has supported the Youth and Business Awards, and this year we are proud to be the main sponsor of the event, recognising and celebrating outstanding workplace performance by young people and employers in the local area.

As passionate advocates of supporting local career development opportunities, Pebbles has seen first hand how the right nurturing and support can lead young members of a team to excel in their careers.

To us, the awards are a one of a kind opportunity to acknowledge the efforts and investments put into those positive outcomes by both local businesses and young employees and apprentices, resulting in rewarding workplace environments and generating further opportunities in the local area.

About the awards

Initiated by the Salcombe and Kingsbridge Chamber of Commerce, and fondly known of as the YABAs, the awards have traditionally operated in the Kingsbridge and Salcombe areas, but this year have extended their catchment area to incorporate Modbury.

For our young people, who are nominated or succeed in winning an award, the YABAs recognise and reward the performance which has enabled them to achieve in a workplace in the area.  For our businesses employing our young people, the YABAs recognise and reward their success as the leaders, motivators and managers who nurture our young people to success.

Who can enter the awards

The awards are open to all young people aged 16 - 25 in any form of employment. They are also open to the businesses who employ our young people, specifically in workplaces in the Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Modbury areas of South Devon.  Anyone can nominate a young person or business for an award, including friends, family, employees and employers.  Self-nominations are also accepted.

The six categories of awards can be found below. Nominations will be considered by the YABAs Advisory Board including Chair for the Chamber of Commerce and founding owner of Start Point Law, Rebecca Weare; Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and founding co-owner of Pebbles, James Spencer; and, Chair of Skills Training UK, Simon Gotch.

The awards categories are:
