A complete service: from refurbishment to on-going property management and services

Pebbles is fast approaching 20 years in property management and services, and in that time, we have expanded to meet the changing and growing wants and needs of holiday homeowners in the South West. One of the great joys has been seeing those services, such as REFURB – From Pebbles, blossom into brands in their own right. The result is that we are able to provide a complete range of property solutions that are robust enough to operate as standalone services as well as working seamlessly together. The work that we have done, and continue to do, at 3 Victoria Quay has been a perfect example.

Turning a permanent residence into a multi-purpose holiday home

This property in the heart of Salcombe was brought to us by a family where multiple owners had inherited it. Having originally been used as a permanent residence, it was now to be a holiday home for different members of families who lived at a distance in the UK and overseas and had busy lives of their own, but who also wanted it to operate as a successful holiday let when they weren’t there.

They began by working with our REFURB – from Pebbles department, which was given full autonomy to redesign, restyle and implement a top-to-toe renewal including furnishings and inventory, to meet the functional needs of the clients, whilst still being stylish. As always, the clients were able to stay fully aware of everything that was happening, and get involved with decision-making where they wanted to, through regular communications and real-time updates on our Client Dashboard.

Preparing a property to suit the needs of the letting market

The result was a space that was both stylish and functional, with delicate nods to the family’s history in the property, but all the requirements and practicalities of a letting holiday home kept in mind as well, all brought together with minimal delay, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, the property launched onto the holiday letting market enabled by hosting providers HolidayHost as soon as lockdown ended and has been almost fully booked with five-star reviews and much praise for its elegant and well thought out design and layout, ever since.

As the renovations were coming to completion, and owners began to think about the practicalities of letting the property, they then spoke to the property management team at Pebbles. Knowing they wanted their home to run professionally, but without having the time or inclination to handle the day-to-day management, maintenance and housekeeping, Pebbles property management presented the ideal solution.

Our Senior Property Manager was able to dovetail its service with the end of the REFURB project , in liaison with the Host to make sure all insurances, safety certificates and practical requirements (highchairs, fully stocked kitchen drawers etc.) were in place before the first guests arrived. With high demand and a busy booking schedule, our Senior Property Manager was also then able to seamlessly implement a housekeeping schedule to maintain the beautifully finished property and ensure guests feel immediately sae and welcome from the moment they walk through the door.
